BOT OGONI TRUST FUND GETS THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS FOR CLEAN UP EXERCISE

Rivers state Government has been called upon to partner more with the Hydrocarbon pollution remediation project, HYPREP in Ogoni land.
The call was made by the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ogoni Trust Fund, Dr. Mike Nwialahge while inspecting some remediation sites in the four Ogoni Local Government Areas in Rivers state.
Dr. Nwialahge while enumerating the level of work assessed by his group, explained that given the huge funds taken by the project, collaborating with the Government, would enhance sustainability in the long run.
The Chairman Board of Trustees, BOT; Ogoni Trust Fund also expressed pleasure at the level of human capital development achieved so far by HYPREP.
Also speaking, the Project Coordinator, HYPREP; Professor Nenibarine Zabbey, who said the project is designed to attain set goals, pointed out that dealing with underground water is key to the scheme.
The inspection of the HYPREP Project by the BOT; Ogoni Trust Fund, across the four oil impacted Local Government Areas of the State; Eleme, Gokana, Tai and Khana, lasted for three days.
