OVER THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND YOUTHS REGISTER IN NDDC PROJECT HOPE DATA BASE

NDDC MD, DR. SAMUEL OGBUKU AND NDDC IN-HOUSE MEDIA CREW

Over three hundred thousand youths of Niger Delta extraction have registered in the data base of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Youths empowerment initiative, christened, Holistic Opportunities Programme of Engagement, Project Hope. 

The Managing Director, Niger Delta  Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku made the assertion while speaking to Newsmen in Port Harcourt Rivers State. 

Dr. Ogbuku while calling on other youths to leverage on the opportunity and be part of the process, explained that project Hope data registration is a platform for data collation of all unemployed youths of the region, from where selection would be made for training and empowerment. 

According to the MD who said the youths are required to register their skills, qualifications, areas of interest and projections, the data generated from the registration would be relied upon for planning and picking  of  beneficiaries. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the interventionist agency who acknowledged that stakeholders engagement has been instrumental in maintaining peace in various communities reminded youths that no development would take place in crisis prone environment. 

The Managing Director while encouraging youths to venture into Entrepreneurship, expressed confidence that Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce to be floated by the commission would nurture and grow small scale entrepreneurs to stardom. 

The NDDC boss also stated that Palliative distribution for the yuletide was handled by various states offices to ensure that both the youths and women were not left out.
