OVER THREE THOUSAND RESIDENTS OF ONNE BENEFIT FROM NOWA FREE MEDICAL RHAPSODY 

NOWA NATIONAL PRESIDENT, HAJIYA AISHA GAMBO, HANDING OVER ITEMS TO ONNE PARAMOUNT RULER

Over three thousand residents of Onne Community in Eleme Local Government Area Rivers State have benefited from the free medical outreach by Naval Officers Wives Association, NOWA, in conjunction with Nigerian Navy. 

The National President of NOWA, Hajiya Aisha Gambo who led other members of the association to the medical “Rhapsody” said the exercise was part of the Sixty Six Anniversary of Nigerian Navy.

It was a moment of joy for the residents of Onne Community in Rivers State, who came out in their numbers to benefit from the Free medical outreach by Naval Officers Wives Association, NOWA, in conjunction with Nigerian Navy.

The overwhelming crowd was an indication that the residents have been in dire need of  such gestures from charitable organizations.  

Speaking on the significance of the programme, the National President, Naval Officers Wives Association, NOWA, Hajiya Aisha Gambo revealed that it was in accordance with Sixty Six Anniversary of Nigerian Navy.

Hajiya Gambo who said that the free Medical Rhapsody would strengthen Civil-Military relationship, added that the association has sunk boreholes in more  than sixty communities across the nation.

Similarly, the Representative of the Director Naval Medical Services, Surgeon Captain Ugochi Nzeribe gave assurance of the quality of medical services at the free medical outreach.

Surgeon Captain Nzeribe assured the people that NOWA was prepared to attend to their health needs.

She encouraged the residents to feel free to consult any of the Naval Medical Centers in the state when they have health challenges. 

Reactiing to the development, the paramount Ruler of Onne, His Royal Majesty, Chief Johnson Nkpornwi and two other beneficiaries, Agness Osaro  and Janet Jackson appreciated NOWA for remembering the community. 

They described the gesture as first of its kind in the locality.  

The Paramount Ruler however pleaded for slots for the community during Navy recruitment. 

The beneficiaries received, free eye classes, mosquito treated nets, drugs and food palliatives.
