Executive Director Project, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Sir, Victor Antai says the era of abandonment of projects embarked upon by NDDC was over.
Sir Antai who made the assertion during the inspection of twenty six kilometres Ogbia Nembe Road, in Ogbia Local Government Area Bayelsa State, said the contractor has been urged to expedite action on finishing touches at some sections of the road, to get it ready for inauguration soon.
According to the EDP, the road would be very important for economic viability of the locality especially in transportation of farm produce to the urban areas.
The Executive Director Projects who explained that the road with up to seven bridges would connect many communities, maintained that it would enhance economic emancipation of the rural dwellers.
Sir Antai who acknowledged the difficulty in road construction within swampy terrain, noted the project was part of the gains of partnership initiative between NDDC and International Oil Companies.
Other directors of the commission were in company of the EDP during the inspection.
