NDDC AND LNG READY TO ENTER AN MoU FOR NIGER DELTA REGION DEVELOPMENT

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says that NDDC has regained its credibility among major stakeholders.

Dr. Ogbuku who made the assertion while receiving a team from Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas, NLNG, towards signing a memorandum of understanding MOU, at NDDC headquarters Marine Base Port Harcourt Rivers State, noted that through partnership, the development of Niger Delta region would be facilitated.

The Managing Director said the collaboration was a fall out of the public Private Partnership PPP, summit in Lagos which has opened a vista of synergies with many partners.

The chief Executive Officer admitted that the commission needs partners to be able to fund its numerous developmental programmes across the region.

He enjoined NLNG to continue in its statutory contribution to the commission.

Earlier on, the leader of NLNG delegation, the General Manager External Relations and Sustainable Development, Andy Odey told the Managing Director that the company believes in partnership and would want to collaborate with NDDC to reach out to the entire Niger Delta Region.

He stated that the company believes in human development hence the decision to leverage on NDDC platform to reach out to the residents of the region.

Mr. Odey expressed joy that their Products have been helpful in local consumption and making significant contribution to the nation’s economy.
