OVER FIFTEEN PERSONS BENEFIT FROM NIGERIAN ARMY FREE EYE SURGERY AT 6 DIVISION HOSPITAL, PORT HARCOURT BARRACS

Over fifteen persons have benefited from free eye surgery by Nigerian Army, at 6 Division Hospital, Port Harcourt Rivers State. 

Speaking on the development, the Commander 6 Division Hospital, Colonel Francis Odiase who represented the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt explained that the exercise was  an Initiative of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja aimed at bringing succor to the public. 

According to him, the surgery was a pin hole cataract surgery with special equipment that does not require tearing. 

One of the beneficiaries, Madam Julia Ibe told newsmen that she has made efforts previously to have it done elsewhere, but it did not work out. 

In the same vein, another beneficiary, Mr. Austin Atebo said it was a big relief for him. 

The beneficiaries appropriated Nigerian Army for coming to their rescue.
