OVER A THOUSAND RESIDENTS OF AHOADA BENEFIT FROM FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH BY SIX DIV NIG ARMY AS ABARIKPO COMMUNITY RECEIVES BOREHOLE

Over a thousand residents of Ahoada have benefited from free medical outreach carried out by Six Division Nigerian Army in the community.
The free medical which is part of the ongoing Exercise Still Waters launched by Nigerian Army in collaboration with sister security agencies was to cushion the effects of the flood that ravaged the area.
Similarly, the Army also sank a borehole in Abarikpo community in continuation of the exercise.
Speaking on the importance of the exercise, the General Officer Commanding Six Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, Major General Olufemi Oluyede who said that it was part of the efforts to strengthen Civil Military relationship, noted that it was part of the vision of the Chief of Army Staff to attend to the health needs of host communities apart from providing adequate security.
Major General Oluyede who was represented by the Garrison Commander Six Division, Brigadier General Suleiman Tilawan said the borehole would make potable water available in Abarikpo community.
Reacting to the development, the Chairman Ahoada East Local Government Area Rivers State, Mr. Ben Eke and the Community Development Committee Chairman of Ahoada who benefited from the outreach expressed happiness for the gesture.
In the same vein, the paramount ruler of Abarikpo, Chief Fineboy Eke noted that the project was unprecedented by the Army in the area.
The respondents appreciated Nigerian Army for the free medical and the borehole in the communities.
The beneficiaries were subjected to medical examination by team of medical personnel after which they were given drugs in line with their ailments, including eyeglasses.
