PRESIDENT TINUBU EXPRESSES RESERVATIONS ON THE LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT IN NIGER DELTA REGION

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, DR. Samuel Ogbuku says President Bola Tinubu has expressed reservations on the level of development in Niger Delta region. 

Dr. Ogbuku who made this known during a staff forum at  NDDC Headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, revealed that the president has given a matching order to facilitate rapid development of the region. 

According to the Managing Director, after his meeting with Mr. President and executive directors’ meeting with Permanent Secretary Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, they were given new directives following the dissolution of the governing board. 

The Chief Executive Officer who reiterated his   commitment to building people and making indelible marks in the development of Niger Delta region, solicited coorporation from staff. 

Similarly, the Executive Director projects, EDP,  Mr. Charles Ogunmola revealed that new units would be formed to facilitate smooth administrative processes  at the commission. 

According to the EDP, the new units to be set up are, Corporate Governance Unit, Due Process Unit and Contractor Support unit.

In their contributions, Dr. Oscar Gbaishomore and the Chairman of staff Union, Anthony Gbendo told the MD that the staff is happy that he was retained to continue to work for the development of Niger Delta region. 

The respondents assured Dr. Ogbuku of loyalty and support of workers.
