SECOND PHASE OF NDDC PROJECT HOPE TO FOCUS ON REGION INDUSTRIALIZATION

The Director Agric and Fisheries, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Mrs. Winifred Madume says the second phase of the commission’s youth empowerment and capacity building initiative, Project Hope will focus on industrialization in Niger Delta Region. 

Mrs. Madume who made this known while giving update on the progress of the programme said that one hundred thousand youths of Niger Delta extraction registered in the data capturing exercise of the first phase.

While encouraging youths to take advantage of the initiative, she gave assurance of the determination of NDDC to provide logistics support for the success of the programme. 

In his explanation, the facilitator of the programme, Ambassador Blessing Fubara who gave assurance of a transparent selection process, said  one hundred and eighty five collation officers taken from all the local government areas in the region have been trained, while another set of one hundred and eighty five would commence training soon. 

According to Ambassador Fubara, part of the activities of the exercise would focus on commercial agriculture, information and communication technology music and arts.

The Facilitator who expressed confidence that the programme would create job opportunities noted that some State governments have already made land available for the project. 

Oher directors were present at the event including the Director Corporate Affairs, Pius Ughakpoteni.
