NDDC TO INSTITUTIONALISE TRANSPARENCY, DEPLOYS 370 TRAINEES OF PROJECT HOPE

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says selection process for the commission’s empowerment programmes will be transparent. 

Dr. Ogbuku who made the commitment while handing over laptops to Local Government data supervisors and data collation officers, beneficiaries of Projects Hope skill acquisition programme  of the Commission in Port Harcourt Rivers State, insisted that the idea is to provide a level playing ground for equal participation. 

The Managing Director told the participants that gone were the days when nepotism and politics held sway in determining beneficiaries of such opportunities. 

He charged the collation officers who were deployed to their local government areas to toe the same path and select other beneficiaries based on merit. 

Similarly, the Commissioner for Youth Development Rivers State, Dr. Chisom Gbali applauded the selection process which was seamless adding that the State government would adopt the method of the programme. 

 The Facilitator, Ambassador Blessing Fubara gave assurance of the quality of training the supervisors received. 

Two of the Beneficiaries, Mr. Ogundipe Benjamin from Ondo State and Barika Anselem from Rivers State expressed happiness over the gesture from NDDC. 

About three hundred and seventy trainees from one hundred and eighty-five local government areas within nine states of NDDC coverage participated in the training.
