Rivers State Governor restates commitment to NYSC scheme on youths

Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara has restated his commitment to the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu”s administration through conscious and consistent effort to tackle youth unemployment and by extension lift many out of poverty
Mr. Fubara who stated this at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam -Tai Rivers State, during the swearing in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream 1 Corps Members deployed to the State promised his administration’s unwavering support to the NYSC in moulding positively, the attitude of the graduate youths and leaders posted to the State.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Hamilton Amadi, Governor Fubara expressed optimism that with the sustained improvements that have been made in the NYSC Skill’s Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme designed to make Corps Members self-sustainable, the nation’s economic resurgence is very much on track.
Earlier, the Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang had commended the Corps Members for their honest and patriotic sacrifices in nation building in the last 51 years.
Speaking further, he urged them to see their mobilization into the National Service as a rare privilege that should motivate them to work hard to entrench unity, development, peace and prosperity of the nation assuring that the camp has been made comfortable for them.
The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Amadi represented by Justice Opufaa Ben-Whyte administered the Oath of Allegiance to the Corps Members at the occasion.
Our correspondent reports that a total of one thousand, seven hundred and seventy one Corps Members were sworn in at the colorful event.
