NDDC TO COLLABORATE WITH UN AGENCY TO BUILD TECHNICAL CAPACITY

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku has pledged the readiness  of the commission to partner United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in areas of flood disaster, risk management and  data collation.

Dr Ogbuku who made the commitment during a courtesy call by Chief Strategic planning and Coordination Section at the United Nations Satellite Centre, UNOSAT, Mr. Olivier Van-Damme noted that oil exploration and bunkery activities have affected the region. 

Represented by Executive Director Projects, Sir Victor Antai, the Managing Director Emphasized the need for technical support in Project monitoring as well as training of staff. 

On his part, The Chief Strategic planning and coordination section at UN satellite Centre, Mr. Olivier van-damme   who said he was happy to associate with NDDC, told the MD that the centre was willing for knowledge transfer that would build capacity among the people of the region. 

Mr. Van-Damme gave assurance that the centre would  assist the commission in development planning and environmental preservation. 

Similarly, the Director Environmental Protection and Control EPC, Onuoha Obeka  Acknowledged that the partnership would make NDDC leverage on geospatial technology that UNITAR would provide to  make project monitoring seamless.
