JOACHIM OKAFOR ASSUMES OFFICE AS NEW COMMANDANT NSCDC RIVERS STATE COMMAND

Commandant Joachim Okafor has assumed office as the New Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Rivers State Command.
Commandant Okafor who took over from the immediate past Commandant, Basil Igwebuze in a brief ceremony at NDDC Rivers State Command, pledged to be dogged in the fight against oil theft.
While calling on all stakeholders to collaborate in the quest to eliminate pipeline vandalism, oil bunkering and crude oil theft, the new Commandant appreciated NSCDC Comandant General, Dr Abubakar Audi for considering him for the new role.
According to a statement from SA Media and Publicity, Olufemi Ayodele, the new NSCDC Rivers State Commandant who stressed on synergy among sister security operatives, said he would promote integrity as part of the core values of NSCDC.
He solicited support from civil society, youth groups and residents of Rivers state to facilitate seamless operations in the state.
Commending the hard work and pedigree of Commandant Okafor who served as Niger State Commandant before his deployment to Rivers; The Zone L Commander in charge of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River; Assistant Commandant General, (ACG) Ayinla Olowo said the new State Commandant is an experienced and dedicated officer who has served in various capacities in NSCDC formations across the nation.
The ACG, Zone L Commander further hinted that posting and deployment of officers within the NSCDC is not a punishment but an opportunity to enhance their performance and develop potentials.
He appreciated the dedication of the immediate past Commandant Basil Igwebueze and charged Rivers State Command officers and men to be discipline and loyal to NSCDC hierarchy.
