Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr Paddy Iyamu has appealed to youths in Nigeria to stop demarketing the country.

Dr Iyamu stated this at an event organised by the Edo State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria held at its Secretariat in Benin City, as part of activities to celebrate the 2025 International Youths Day .

He noted that the youths are the leaders of the country and urged them to pray for their leaders.

” Youths are the future of this nation and we want them to shun Cultism and other Vices, and however most importantly let’s promote our country, let’s market our country, let’s promote our leaders except for the bad ones , which is normal in every society, but if you demarket your country, the international community will look at you in that same direction, we have so many Visa bans and all the likes, it’s because the social media space has been so polarised, the Youths go there, you insult your leaders, you insult your country, you defame the country, so this is a Clarion call to all Nigeria Youths , let’s stop defaming the country, we have only one country, and we must protect the sanctity of the country, we will continue to pray for our leaders, support our leaders and by the grace of God, we will get where we want to go”

In a remark Vice President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, South South Zone Comrade Innocent Ajayi appealed to Edo youths to shun Cultism and other Vices capable of truncating their future.

“To Edo youths, please lets us stay out of Cultism, sometimes when I attend international programme and my State is being mentioned in the issue of Cultism I feel so pain. I don’t think there’s any reason for us to be taking our lives”.

Earlier, Edo State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria Comrade Moses Aguinede Joseph called on Youths to shun Vices inimical to the Social- economic growth and development of Nigeria.

” Am using this medium to tell the terming Youths of Edo State to shun Cultism and other forms of Social Vices and Cooperate with the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo to develop our dear state”.
