In a bid to further improve the quality of education in Bayelsa, the Education Development Trust Fund has handed over learning materials to two hundred and twenty five schools across the eight local government areas of the State.

Public secondary schools and technical colleges benefitted from the gesture while five government science and technical colleges got science equipment and drawing studios.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah who chaired the occasion reiterated the readiness of the Bayelsa State government to raising the standards of education in the State.

Dr. Emelah while commending the Education Development Trust Fund for its interventions, said the Administration would not relent in its efforts to repositioning the education sector.

Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Dr. Daniel Charles while also giving kudos to the EDTF for its achievements, urged the board to do more for additional rural schools to benefit.

Chairman of the EDTF Board, High Chief Fidelis Agbiki pledged readiness to improve on the educational system in the State while urging benefitting Principals to make good use of the items in their schools.

Executive Secretary of the EDTF, Professor Ebimiowei Etebu said the distribution of the materials to schools were meant to address critical gaps in the education system and improve learning outcomes.

High point of the event was the handover of the learning materials, science equipment and drawing studio to principals of secondary schools present at the State Education House.
