No Council Staff Was Sacked — Chidi Lloyd Clarifies

You Can’t Disappear During Staff Biometric Verification Exercise And Suddenly Appear During Salary Payment

The attention of the office of Emohua local government chairman has been drawn to commentaries on different media platforms insinuating that the administration of Sir Chidi Lloyd had sacked a number of the local government council staff. While it is considered that the purveyors of such propaganda may be less-informed or sponsored to cause damage to the intimidating profile and integrity of the council chairman, it is important that we set the records straight, for the sake of the unsuspecting members of the public.

  1. The Emohua local government council under the leadership of Sir Chidi Lloyd did not, and do not intend to sack a single staff of the council.
  2. August salaries are being paid to verified council staff, and no staff will be denied his/her salary under the present administration.
  3. Emohua local government council staff who are yet to receive their august salaries are advised to approach the appropriate department in the local government council, to make their complaint officially and not resort to blackmail in the media.
  4. The administration of Sir Chidi Lloyd is committed to the welfare of all verified staff of the council. The council chairman is also committed to addressing genuine concerns from staff, through the appropriate channels, and not in the media.
  5. The council chairman is not also unaware of the fact that some faceless individuals who were illegally added to the council payroll by past administrations had refused to present themselves for biometric exercise, to verify their employment but expect to be paid salaries when their employment is not established. You can’t disappear during biometric verification exercise and suddenly appear during salary payment. Verification is the qualification for salaries .
  6. It is unfortunate that the faceless individuals who could not present themselves for biometric verification exercise because they have no document to back up their demand for salary, are the ones claiming to have been sacked by the council.
  7. The administration of Sir Chidi Lloyd is also in possession of documents showing the number of faceless individuals who are staff of the Rivers State University and other state institutions but continued to receive salaries from Emohua local government council. These set of individuals also refused to present themselves for the biometric verification exercise but expect to earn salaries from the local government and the state government at the same time .
  8. The local government chairman, Sir Chidi Lloyd is not planning to victimize anyone with his privileged office, as he has no reason to do so.
  9. It is therefore important to categorically state that the local government chairman known for his zero tolerance for corruption, crime and criminality, can not also be cowed by any form of organized protest, but would do everything within his powers to ensure that no single individual, irrespective of personal or political relationship is allowed to defraud the local government council by receiving salaries from the commonwealth of the people of Emohua local government area without proof of employment.
  10. The general public is hereby advised to disregard the misleading narrative, and be rest assured that Sir Chidi Lloyd is not going to back down on his resolve to end the age long irregularities in the local government’s financial management, which has over the years hindered development in the local government area.
