The monthly sanitation exercise scheduled for this Saturday, October 4th, has been cancelled.

Dr Samuel Nwanosike, Chairman of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, announced this after meeting with Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Port Harcourt. He stated the governor wants a new approach to tackling sanitation in the state. The RIWAMA Board Chairman also noted that Governor Fubara has promised to support RIWAMA with initiatives, including the provision of a new dumpsite.

Meanwhile, the agency’s Managing Director, Dr Ibimina Awokuma, is urging residents to keep their surroundings clean despite the cancellation.
