The spirit and reminiscences of Christmas filled the air at the 5000 capacity Nyesom Wike auditorium at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, during the 2025 Batch C inter-platoon Christmas carol competition.
Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, in a remark at the event, charged Corps Members to reflect deeply on “why the savior Jesus Christ was born.”

He regretted that people dwell more on the social relevance of Christmas rather than it’s deep spiritual meaning.
He further called on the Corps Members to do a sober reflection of the season and amend their ways in order to contribute their quota meaningfully to nation-building and development through a patriotic and selfless service to the people in their one year of national service.
The well-attended carol night witnessed soul-searching and soul-piercing songs and messages that melted hearts and aligned the mubds and thoughts of the audience in Christmas mood.
At the end of the inter-platoon carol competition, 6 platoon took 1st position, 10 platoon 2nd and 4 platoon 3rd.
They were gifted cash prizes.
Meanwhile, Corps Members have been charged to “develop and imbibe competitive spirit as a veritable vehicle for excellence and success” in their daily lives.
The State Cordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe gave the charge during the finals of sporting competition for 2025 Batch C orientation exercise in Nonwa-GbamTai NYSC permanent orientation camp.
He commended the finalists for being “very competitive” in the round of matches that took them to the finals and congratulated others for their sportsmanship and disciplined conduct throughout the duration of the competition.
