MAJOR GENERAL ABDUSSALAM TARGETS HIGH STANDARDS IN COMMAND SCHOOLS WITHIN 6 DIVISION NIGERIAN ARMY

General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, Major General Jamal Abdussalam says he is determined to raise the standard of education in command schools within 6 Division Area of responsibility. 

Major General Abdussalam who made this known while declaring open the maiden 6 Division Education First Quarter Conference at Port Harcourt Barracks, Rivers State, maintained that effective Education formed part of the core mandates of 6 Division Nigerian Army. 

Major General Abdussalam who is also the Land Component Commander South South, Operation Delta Safe, emphasized the importance of discipline within Command schools, adding that efforts were made to guarantee adequate security at the schools. 

The GOC who acknowledged that education was evolving, stressed the need for teachers to be up to date on new trends in the teaching profession.

“In a world where education is constantly evolving, the maiden 6 Dvision Education first quarter conference becomes mportant as it will serve as vital conduits of knowledge, collaboration, and innovation. “

“These conferences will also offer platform for educators to exchange ideas, learn from experts and stay updated on the latest developments in their fields as ell as articulate ways of improving on the level of discipline in Command Schools” 

Similarly, the Commander Education Corps, Nigerian Army, Major General Belo TSOHO, who was represented by Major General Sani Ibrahim, harped on plans to make Command secondary schools align with changes in the education sector worldwide. 

According to him, there was need for continuous improvement in the learning process. 

He emphasized welfare of personnel to boost their morale. 

In his remark, Acting Director, 6  Divisional Education Services, Lieutenant Colonel Abdulhameed Yakubu who identified teachers as critical in the quality of education in command schools, said there were about one hundred participants drawn from different command schools. 

Lieutenant Colonel Yakubu was optimistic of the gains of the conference, judging by the quality of resource persons. 

 The theme of the conference was repositioning Nigerian Army Command Schools Towards Enhanced Service Delivery.
