The need to collaborate with the media for the development of the creative industry has been highlighted.
The Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN Rivers State chapter, Dr. Ken Osunwa made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, South South Zone in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Osunwa stated that Radio Nigeria has been a vital partner with the Nollywood industry which has necessitated the visit of the state chapter of AGN to consolidate on the age long relationship.
”We have strong relationship here no event we had that we hadn’t involved the media and we are here also to awaken the relationship because most of our events need media coverage. We need media partnership that is why we are here and also to let you know we are at your service anytime and anyday.
If you need entertainment news we are available to supply that to you. We can as well create some programmes that would bring traffic to this station,” he noted.
Responding, the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria South South Zone of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mr. Lucky Obarein acknowledged the efforts of the movie industry in developing the country.
Mr Obarein gave the assurance that the corporation would work with Nollywood for the mutual benefits of both parties.
”We have always been itching to meet groups like these that can give us traffic.
This partnership you are craving is just like one on one interaction that can be of more interest than what you read on social media.
When you have grade A actors in town mention Radio Nigeria Treasure FM to them and when you bring them we give them the attention and I think it will be going to beneficial for every one of us,” he said.
Present at the event were the management staff of Radio Nigeria South South Zone including the Acting General Manager, Dr. Mopelola Oke, Deputy Director of News, Idara Ukpayang, Deputy Director Outside Broadcast, Mrs. Onyinye Onuoha and other executive members of AGN Rivers State.
