The Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) has empowered multiple birth families in Akwa Ibom State with baby and mother care packages, alongside cash support to ease the burden of raising multiple children on the parents.

Speaking at an Empowerment Programme for Multiple Birth Families, held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, and Chairperson, Board of Trustees of GIFA, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, described the initiative as a symbolic part of activities to herald the organisation’s second anniversary celebration and Pastor Patience Umo Eno’s posthumous birthday, on February 20, 2026.

Lady Obareki explained that the empowerment programme for Multiple Birth families was designed to support parents raising twins, triplets and other multiple births, acknowledging the physical, emotional and financial demands involved. She encouraged beneficiaries to engage in ventures that will provide for the demands of raising their children, assuring them that GIFA would show empathy and support to families navigating the challenges of raising multiple children.
