Akwa Ibom State government has charged stakeholders in the riverine area of the state to ensure that those in the Creeks get registered in National Identification number( NINC) as well as as the ongoing continuous voters card.

The State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno gave the charge during women sensitisation tour on civic responsibility and commissioning of Nigeria for women projects in Mbo and Udung Uko organised by the ministry of women affairs and social welfare.

Represented by the deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Governor Umo Eno said the Essence of the sensitisation was hindge on three point which includes, PVCs awareness, benefits of the cooperative and the need to get registered in National Identification number.

While urging the women to take the message to those at home, wards and local government, Senator Eyakenyi called on them to check their voters card if it’s still in good condition as the registration for continuous voters card was ongoing.

” in the course of using your PVCs over the years you must have put it in your pulse, pocket or bag check if , the picture and voters number is still showing in the card as that is the sure way to exercise their civic responsibility. If it’s not please go for validation so that you can emphasize your civic responsibility”

The executive Chairman of Udung Uko local government area, Mr Godwin Okponung and his counterpart in Mbo local government area, Mr Sunday Etim appreciated the Governor for the initiative, adding that the tour has strengthened relationships in the community.

The member representing Oron/ Udung Uko state Consistency in Akwa Ibom house of Assembly , Mrs Kenim Onofiok while appreciating the governor, Pastor Umo Eno for his Leadership style in Akwa Ibom State, promised that come 2027, the constituent will vote for the re-election of President Tinubu, senator Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.

The Commissioner for women affairs, Mrs Inibehe Silas told the women that the sensitisation on PVCs, NINC and Cooperative was not for them alone but to take the message to those at home especially those who have attained 18 years of age.

Other stakeholders who spoke highlighted the importance of voters cards and the need to get registered in the National Identification number(NINC).

Those who accompanied the deputy governor were, the member representing Oron/ Udung Uko federal Constituency, Mr Martins Esin, members of state executive council, wife of the deputy director Project, NDDC, almost others.
