
Chairman of the Bayelsa Athletics Association, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe says the State athletes are ready to beat other contenders in track and field events at the forthcoming 2nd Niger Delta Games billed for Benin City, Edo State from February 20-27.
Dr. Oredipe who spoke to Radio Nigeria at the Team Bayelsa Trial for the fiesta at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, said the athletes were ready to deliver.

One of the star athletes of Team Bayelsa, Tejiri Godwin, a gold medalists at the 2024 World School Games in Bahrain who clocked an impressive 9.92 seconds in the 100 meters boys’ trial which is the best times so far says he is poised to go for gold at the Games.
The 3-day Trial of Team Bayelsa to choose athletes to represent the State at the 2nd Niger Delta Games came to a climax on Sunday.
