Few days to the end of the 15th Biennial Police Games holding in Asaba, Zone 9 Umuahia and the Force Headquarters Abuja , are leading the medals table.
Zone 9 Umuahia team has garnered 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, followed by the Force Headquarters with 7 gold , 3 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Zone Eleven Osogbo team is third on the medals table with 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals while the host, Zone 5 Benin is trailing behind with 2 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Over one hundred medals have so far been won by the competing zones and the Force Headquarters.
Meanwhile, Zone 12, Bauchi and Zone 15 Maiduguri are yet to win any medal at the ongoing 15th Police Games.
With conclusion of several sports events, all eyes are now on athletics for both men and women categories with many medals in the offing.
Some athletes who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed hope of winning medals for their zones ahead of a befitting closing ceremony slated for this Saturday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba
