The Executive Director – Finance and Administration of the Niger -Delta Development Commission NDDC, Boma Iyaye has refuted widespread reports suggesting he has declared interest in the 2027 Rivers State governorship race and has aswell obtained endorsement from the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

In a statement personally signed by him, Boma Iyaye described the claims as misleading and a misrepresentation of the true position, stressing that no such political decision has been taken.

He maintained that his priority remains his role as Executive Director, Finance and Administration at the NDDC, where he continues to focus on administrative efficiency, financial management, and the effective implementation of development programmes across the Niger Delta region.

Clarifying the reports, he stated that he has neither formally declared any intention to contest the governorship nor received endorsement from the FCT Minister or any political figure, as being alleged in the reports.
He, however, expressed his continued regard for the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, acknowledging his leadership role and contributions to governance and public service.

Boma iyaye further urged members of the public aswell as media practitioners to rely strictly on credible and verified sources when reporting or sharing information and to disregard any contrary reports.

Boma iyaye, in the statement, reaffirmed his commitment to his current assignment and working collaboratively with the leadership and stakeholders of the commission to advance its mandate of sustainable development in the Niger- Delta.
