The maternity ward of Immanuel General Hospital Eket, in the early hours of new year day received a special delegation of women led by the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom state, Lady Helen Eno Obareki.

Lady Obareki’s visit to the hospital was to welcome the beautiful baby girl, born to Mr Steven and Mrs Christiana David of Atabong village in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State who made a grand entrance into the world , a few minutes into the new year.

The visit to the latest beneficiary of the benevolence, is in keeping with the tradition of the office, where she gave cash and gift packs to the baby girl, the first daughter after a set of twin boys, weighing 3kg, who was born on her father’s birthday.

Cuddling the baby, the Coordinator who offered prayers of thanksgiving to God for the safe delivery of the baby felicitated the family of the Star baby on the latest addition to their family, even as she congratulated the father on the double joy of a worthy birthday gift, gifting him cash on his special day.

Lady Obareki also extended love and cheer to other new born babies who were at the ward at the time of her visit and a mother with a mental condition who had delivered a baby a few months earlier, thanking the hospital staff for their consistent care for their patients.

Lady Helen Eno Obareki prayed that the star baby and others at the ward would bring blessings, joy, peace and prosperity to their individual families, and that every home desiring children would have cause to celebrate before the end of 2026.

“We thank God that the mother is alive and the baby too, together with other babies in the ward. The new year signifies new beginnings and blessings. Coincidentally it’s the father’s birthday – My prayers are that the birth of this baby on his birthday would bring open doors and prosperity, and to every other baby I saw in the ward; it’s my prayer that as their births have been received with joy, so will their lives bring joy to their families.”

“Like my local church that has begun the year with the theme – ‘behold I’m the God of all flesh, is there anything too difficult for me to do?’ And the answer is no; we pray that there’ll be nothing too difficult for that family to accomplish with the birth of this baby girl, in Jesus name, Amen.” She added.

The Coordinator lauded the management of the hospital for keeping the medical facility clean and for caring for the mothers and their babies.

The Chief Medical Director of the Immanuel General Hospital Eket, Dr Idongesit Ndaeyo Itaketo and the Head of Nursing services, Mrs Victoria Okposin, who were on hand to receive the Coordinator of the office of the First Lady and the stakeholders, thanked Lady Obareki for her regular visits of encouragement to the facility.
