Suspected cultists have shot dead a taxi driver around Echue Street Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt Rivers State.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the taxi driver whose identity is yet to be ascertained was killed during a shootout between suspected rival cult groups around the area.
The corpse of the taxi driver was later retrieved by Police operatives from Azikiwe Police Division and taken to the station.
The cult groups had engaged in shoot out last night forcing business owners and traders to scamper for safety as the rampaging hoodlums also robbed passersby and shop owners.
Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident to correspondent Awajis Chijindu, added that investigation is ongoing.
