
The Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commander for Cross River State, Mr. Innocent Etuk, has reiterated his pledge to prioritize road safety across the major highways in the State.
He gave the assurance during the October Mobile Court sitting held at the Calabar-Odukpani road axis and presided over by Magistrate Eno Iyamba.
Mr. Etuk promised that the Corps would continue its strategic intervention patrols to check the excesses of motorists and prosecute offenders.

According to him, a total of 49 offenders were arraigned, with 46 convictions secured and 3 discharged, in connection with 140 offenses.
Giving a further breakdown of the offences committed, he said 20 people were arrested for Belt use Violation and 24 apprehended for Driving License offence, while 11 were charged for Overloading, and three for Tyre Violation.
The FRSC boss added that one person was held for Failure to fix Red flag, and five for failure to install speed limiting devices, while nine individuals were picked for Number Plate Violation, and four of the offenders were arrested for Failure to Move Over, among others.
The Sector Commander lamented that despite efforts to promote zero tolerance for road crashes, drivers continue to disregard road safety rules and regulations.
He commended sister agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, for their collaborative efforts in ensuring road safety by enforcing compliance with safety laws and regulations.
