
Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says the commission is intentional about the completion of twenty four kilometres Gbaregolor-Ogulaha Road with a bridge measuring about six hundred meters.
Dr. Ogbuku gave the assurance during inspection of the Project in Gbaregolor Community Ughelli South Local Government Area Delta State, in conjunction with the Chairman NDDC Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie and House Committee members on NDDC.

While describing the project as one of the legacy projects which were captured in twenty twenty- four budget of the commission, the MD told House Committee members that about one trillion naira was approved by President Bola Tinubu for the commission to access and facilitate completion of legacy projects across the region, which include Kaa – Ataba bridge, Bonny Ring Road, Okrika-Borokiri Bridge in Rivers State, among others.

The NDDC boss noted that concerns were raised about the design of the bridge and variation put up by the contractor, but in a meeting with the Chairman of the construction company, the issues were resolved.
He asserted that the road would enhance poverty Reduction, rural development and improved security.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Interventionist Agency assured expectant residents that trooped out to welcome the delegation to the community that the commission was concerned about their plight.

Giving Details about the project, representative of the contracting firm, Dr. Nicholas Masoliba explained that seventy percent of the project which started in 2009 has been achieved.
Dr. Masoliba Noted that due to the impact of Erosion, there was need for adjustment on the original design which includes extension of the bridge .
He insisted that the company has the capacity to complete the project within record time.
Expressing happiness over the gesture, Secretary of Gbaregolor Community, Mr. Robinson Urhianor and another resident, Mrs. Minister Editor admitted that the road would assist the people to convey their agricultural produce to urban areas as well as enhance development of locality.

The residents appreciated NDDC for coming to their rescue but pleaded that the project be fast tracked.
The road cut across Bomadi , Ughelli South and Burutu Local Government Areas in Delta State, connecting over twelve communities.
