Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, has assured Grammy Award winning Music super Star, Damini Ogulu, popularly called Burna Boy, that the commission will provide infrastructural amenities in his community, Ogbogolo, in Ahoada West Local Government Area, Rivers State.
Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who made the commitment while receiving Burna Boy at NDDC Headquarters in Port Harcourt Rivers State, told him that the interventionist agency would construct network of roads in the community, provide Solar Street light and other amenities.
Dr. Ogbuku who advised the music icon to bring his influence home, build investments, hold shows in the region to motivate youths, as well as boost the economy, expressed readiness of NDDC to support such initiatives.
The NDDC Boss explained that the commission has a directive from President Bola Tinubu to ensure rapid development of rural communities across Niger Delta region and complete abandoned legacy projects in the oil rich region.
The Managing Director while reminding Burna Boy of the need to be an ambassador of Niger Delta region acknowledged that his brand of music appeals to people at all cadre.
Addressing the MD earlier, the Music super Star, Burna Boy who was not pleased over the level of under development in his area, solicited assistance from the commission to remedy the situation.
Burna Boy expressed willingness to collaborate with NDDC and pledged readiness to make his presence felt more in the region.
In the same vein, his Father, Mr. Samuel Ogulu appreciated the MD for transforming the region through NDDC.
Giving a vote of thanks, Executive Director Finance and Administration EDFA, Alabo Boma Iyaye told Burna Boy that the people of the region were proud of his achievements and asked him to make himself available for concerts in the region.
