Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says the commission has enjoyed good relationship with Bayelsa State Government.

DR. Ogbuku who made this known during a condolence visit to Bayelsa State Government House over the death of late Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, told Bayelsa State Government that the commission shifted the next series of project Inauguration which would have started in Niger Delta University Bayelsa State, in honour of the deceased.

The MD described the late deputy Governor as a good and friendly man, who was easy going with all.

On his part, Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri while appreciating NDDC team for the visit, noted that it was a big loss to the state.


The Governor admitted that the visit by the MD who is also from Bayelsa State was a pointer to unity among the people of Bayelsa State.

According to the Governor, the death need not be politicized, rather a time to commiserate with the family.

Senator Diri described the late deputy Governor as a strong part of the progress in the state.

He noted that the president and governors have shown concerns about the incident.
Executive Directors and other management staff were in company of the MD during the visit.
High point of the event was signing of the condolence register by the MD.
