
Over eleven acares of swampy areas have been reclaimed by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, in Okochiri Community while works have advanced in one thousand, five hundred capacity Modern Town Hall project in Ogu, Ogubolo Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Addressing Newsmen during inspection of the projects, the Executive Director Finance and Administration NDDC, Alabo Boma Iyaye explained that the reclamation and shoreline protection project would provide vast land for socio-cultural and economic activities in the area, while the town hall which came as needs assessment would be a unifying center for Ogubolo people.
Alabo Iyaye who also inspected the ongoing construction of about five Kilometers internal roads linking Nowa in Tai Local Government Area and Ogu in Ogubolo Local Government, explained that the road would create alternative routes to NYSC orientation Camp in the locality.

While giving assurance of the commission’s determination to ensure quality finishing, the EDFA stated that efforts were geared towards speedy completion of the projects.
In their reactions, Contractors handling the projects, Dr. Jude moroh and Deima Iyala promised to expedite action to complete the projects according to specifications and get them ready for Inauguration soonest.

While expressing joy over the development, a resident of the community, Mr. Tamuno Dango
acknowledged the the move by NDDC has brought relief to the people.
