Management Staff and Directors of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, have been enjoined to buckle up for excellence and make no room for excuses.
Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who gave the charge during Twenty-Twenty-Six NDDC Management Retreat, in Owerri reaffirmed the determination of the present administration to make the commission fully automated.

Participants at the retreat were drawn from management cadre from NDDC Mandate states, Abuja Liaison Office, Executive Directors and their Special Assistants.

It was put together to provide a veritable platform for stock taking and taking decisions that would activate hitchfree activities going forward.

Addressing the gathering, Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku told management staff that they were expected to be prudent in managing scarce public funds to achieve good milestones in service delivery.

Dr. Ogbuku revealed that State offices would be equiped to function adequately, especially in project monitoring to ensure that specifications were met.

“And we want you to succeed in your directorates, because when you succeed the Commission succeeds. So, the success of various Directors in their various directorates is what makes us succeed as a commission”

He encouraged management Staff to function according to the policies of the commission that would make the commission stronger and have the ability to withstand external pressures.

Similarly, Director Planning, Research and Statistics cum Management Information Systems, Dr. Patterson Ogon who spoke on the objectives of the retreat, told participants that there was need to review the past and make new decisions that would enable the commission consolidate on previous achievements and reposition for greater impact in the future.

Speaking on consolidating Organisational performance, through Human Capital Change and Team Alignment, one of the facilitators, Mr. Dada Olugbenga stressed on team work and departmental alignment for a common goal that is unified.

Mr. Olugbenga told the directors that it was important to train their subordinates and equip them with necessary skills that would help them add value to the system.

The retreat also featured group discussions and practical sessions.

The theme of the retreat was Consolidating Performance and Repositioning the Commission for Strategic Impact in Twenty -Twenty Six.
