NChairman Board of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Mr. Chiedu Ebie says the Board is facilitating rapid development of Niger Delta region through project delivery.Mr. Ebie made this known in Abam Okrika Local Government Area Rivers State, during the inauguration of Police Station, Health Centre, recreational Centre and network of Roads.
Mr. Ebie who solicited support from the people asked them to own the projects and secure the facilities against vandalism.The Chairman informed the gathering that the NDDC has secured a brand New Van for the DPO which would be handed over when the new DPO is posted.
On his part, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku assertted that the present Administration was result oriented.Dr. Ogbuku who maintained that the commission was committed to bringing to reality the expectations of the people on development of their communities, said that the projects inauguration were in commemoration of President’s two years in office in keeping with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the Managing Director, there was need for Peace in communities to pave way for Development.He noted that president Tinubu gave a marching order to the board to complete all ongoing projects by the commission.
The MD assured them that Okrika – Borokiri would be completed speedily.He acknowledged the support of Chairman and Governing Board, Senate and House of Reps as well as the generality of the people to enhance project delivery.
The MD admitted that the security agencies have been of great help, providing security at NDDC projects sites.
In a remark , Executive Director Finance and Administration, EDFA, Alabo Boma IYAYE, admitted that the people of Okrika were full of joy for the projects but pleaded that the present board complete the Borokiri-Okrika bridge to link up the community to Port Harcourt town.
Giving the project brief, the Executive Director Projects, Sir Victor Antai explained that the network of Roads were about four points five kilometers, while the Police Station hasArmory, offices, conference room, male and female cells among others.
The EDP noted that the projects were done to enhance community development and improved well-being of the residents.Sir Antai commended the coorporation from the residents.According to him, the community promised to take good care of the projects.
