
Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says NDDC has huge plans for the development of youths in the region.
Dr. Ogbuku who made this known while presenting awards and laptops to participants in Science , Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM Competition at NDDC Headquarters, in Port Harcourt Rivers.
The Managing Director insisted that the commission placed values on the education and capacity development of young people in the oil rich region.

Represented by Director Human Resources NDDC, Mr. Patrick Ekade, the MD encouraged the recipients to add more efforts to make Niger Delta region and Nigeria proud in their academic journey.

“We have many Niger Delta Scholars abroad through NDDC Postgraduate Foreign Scholarship Scheme .
So, this is still part of the support that the commission is giving.
I’m encouraging you to do More, work harder, to make your parents, the Commission, Niger Delta and Nigeria proud.”
Speaking about the Programme, the Coordinator, Mr. Gabriel Misa explained the STEM was a
Problem solving competition that challenges young people to solve life problems through Block chain, IT, Engineering, coding, Robotics and animation.
According to Mr. Misa, the award recipients represented the region in a competition in Turkey and excelled.
Two of the beneficiaries, Mirabel Thompson and Hakeen Amadina appreciated NDDC for the gesture.

They sponsored the Festival and award last year, you can see the laptops.”
“I’m really grateful for NDDC, a very good opportunity for me and my team.”
“It is very generous of NDDC to give us Laptops, it is a great opportunity for me, I really need a laptop.”
While expressing joy over the gift, the recipients acknowledged that it would be a boost in their future endeavors.
Twenty six laptops were given to the winners in both junior and senior categories.
