The Authority Chief Executive officer, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed says the goal of the regulatory body is to ensure increase in the reserve of gas for both domestic and export purposes.
Alhaji Saidu who stated this during the day two of the tour of selected facilities in Rivers State, said the Nigeria content must be promoted in sourcing for production materials to reduce cost of production.
Some of the companies visited on the second day of the tour include Central Horizon Gas Company Limited and Matrix Petrol-Chem Limited
The aim is to ensure that the desire of the federal government to have gas penetration in every nook and cranny of the nation is achieved.
The Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed said to achieve the goal, distribution networks must be expanded to aid industrialization which is critical to the development of any nation.
Alhaji Mohammed maintained that the regulatory body woul continue to make efforts to increase the utilization and ensure it gets to the end user at the least cost.
The Managing Director of Central Horizon Gas Company Limited one of the facilities visited, Mr Kehinde Alabi while commending the regulator for making licensing processes easy, stressed that natural gas is a propeller of industrialization.
The tour seeks to ensure the key objectives of governance and that people of Nigeria are properly captured in the business.
