In a significant political realignment following the expanded stakeholders’ meeting of Delta State Obidients held in Warri , members of the movement were collectively encouraged to formally identify with and register as members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a platform widely described at the meeting as credible, progressive and poised to rescue Nigeria from bad leadership come 2027.
Consequent upon this resolution, Dr. Augustine Isikwei Ojogbo, a prominent leader of the Obidients movement in Aniocha North Local Government Area and former Chairmanship Candidate of the Labour Party, has officially joined the ADC. He completed his registration and was duly issued a membership card by the Chairman of Ward 8, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Mr. Barry Ofili.
Speaking shortly after returning to his country home following the registration exercise, Dr. Ojogbo who formally resigned from the Labour Party in early July 2025, expressed profound satisfaction with his decision to align with the ADC. He described the party as a viable, people-oriented platform through which he could continue to advance his long-standing commitment to grassroots development and effective governance in Aniocha North.
Dr. Ojogbo emphasized that his political journey remains firmly anchored on service, accountability, compassion and the pursuit of a better Nigeria. He urged supporters and well-wishers to continue spreading the message of hope and national rebirth, reiterating his belief that a new Nigeria is possible under purposeful leadership of Mr. Peter Obi come May 2027.
Elaborating on his vision for Aniocha North, Dr. Ojogbo noted that the local government area urgently requires strong, visible, and effective representation at the Delta State House of Assembly. He disclosed that, by the grace and favour of Almighty God, he is giving serious consideration to joining the race to represent Aniocha North Local Government constituency in the State House of Assembly, should circumstances permit.
In a show of solidarity and confidence in his leadership capacity, friends, political associates, and supporters present at the interaction unanimously pledged their unwavering support for Dr. Ojogbo’s future political aspirations, describing him as a committed grassroots mobilizer with the credibility and vision to deliver meaningful representation for the people of Aniocha North.
