To ensure hygiene for young girls during Menstruation,Parents have been tasked on proper education of their children on the basic methods to handle Menstruation.
The Akwa Ibom State support Officer, Population Services International, PSI Nigeria, Mr Godwin Udoh stated this why speaking to Radio Nigeria on hygiene as a vita tool during Menstruation.
Mr Udoh while emphasizing that parents should help their young girls prepare for Menstruation, added that personal hygiene is very important .
He maintained that hygiene during Menstruation protects health, prevent discomfort , and builds confidence.
” parents should make sure they help these children prepare for their next Menstruation, and for those of them that have not menstruated before parents should make sure they follow their growth ‘
While enumerating the norms that has hinder menstrual health and hygiene for young girls, Mr Udoh said no girl should be stigmatized.
The PSI State Support Officer however advocated for affordable and access to menstrual health products for young girls.
