
Authorities of the Zone Sixteen and Bayelsa State Police Commands of the Nigerian Police have embarked on a routine assessment of the road blocks mounted along the East-West road by its personnel.
The joint operation which was led by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16 Headquarters, Yenagoa, Mr. Johnson Oluwole Adenola and the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Iyamah Edebor led to the dismantling of illegal road blocks.
During the exercise, the AIG and the Commissioner of Police dismantled illegal road blocks and warned officers against extortion and all forms of misconduct towards members of the public, especially along the expressway.
They charged officers to remain professional while carrying out their lawful duties.
Mr. Edebor stated that the exercise would be a routine to check the conduct of officers on the highways across the State.
