The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Edo State Command says it has deployed a total of one thousand four hundred personnel to provide security at all Muslim praying grounds and strategic locations in the state for the Sallah celebration.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Command Public Relation Officer, Sc Efosa Ogbebor which was made available to Newsmen in Benin City, Edo state Capital.

The statement noted that the deployment by the Edo state NSCDC Commandant, Gbenga Agun aims to ensure a hitch-free celebration and free flow of traffic across the state.

According to the statement “Commandant Gbenga Agun has directed the Deputy Commandant in-charge of operations, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Operations Officers which includes, Counter Terrorism Unit, AGRO-RANGERS,ANTI VANDAL to ensure thorough supervision of personnel deployed”

It added that Commandant Agun further warned miscreants to steer clear from the state stressing that anyone caught engaging in mischievous acts will be dealt with according to the law.

While assuring residents of the state of a peaceful celebration, the Commandant urged the public to be law-abiding and support the NSCDC and other Security Agencies in maintaining law and order.
