Two Corps Members deployed to Rivers State, Miss Arinze Chiamaka and Mr. Lawrence Udia have identified diligence as one of the ways to curb cultism and advance development in the Country.

They made the call after the swearing in ceremony of the 2026 Batch A, Stream one Corps Members at the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa – Gbam, Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, promised to maintain policies that would enhance the welfare of youths in the State.

He said that his administration will remain “steadfast, resolute, and intentional” in supporting the programmes and activities of the NYSC Scheme in the State stating that no nation “can develop and be great without harnessing the potentials of its youth and leaders of tomorrow.”

He further assured the Corps Members that the massive renovation and upgrade of facilities embarked upon by his administration will be completed in record time while new infrastructure will be put in place to accommodate the increasing number of Corps population being deployed to the State.

Rivers State Coordinator, NYSC, Mr. Moses Oleghe in his remarks, said the Scheme is poised to train Corps members on National integration and unity during the Orientation period.Oleghe said, “A three-week Orientation exercise has been packaged to instill in our Corps members the ideal values and objectives of the NYSC scheme. Anchored primarily on achieving national unity and integration.

To achieve the above objectives, the management of the scheme has been intentional in sourcing the services of highly dedicated and committed resource persons from inside and outside the camp to expose Corps members to practical life experiences through care execution of our scheduled programmes and activities.”

A total of two thousand, six hundred and thirty-eight Corp Members were registered at the Rivers State Orientation Camp.
