Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku has been nominated for an Award of Personality of the Year, by Vanguard Newspaper.

Speaking during the presentation of the nomination letter by a delegation from Vanguard Newspaper at NDDC Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Dr. Ogbuku insisted that needs assessment form major determinant of project allocation to various communities.

The Managing Director who was emphatic on stakeholders engagement told the delegation that the award was a pointer to the progress made in collaboration with the President, National Assembly and other stakeholders.

The MD stressed on the need for partnership between the commission and the media to promote peace and development of the region.

Dr. Ogbuku told the delegation that the commission prioritized project supervision to be able to deliver legacy projects and complete abandoned ones across the region in line with the directive of Mr. president.

Presenting the Award nomination letter, Deputy Editor Vanguard, Adekunle Adekoye noted that the present Management of NDDC has been intentional about the development of the hinterland and creeks of Niger Dr Region.

Mr. Adekoye was particular about rural electrification as well as Light up Niger Delta Solar Street light among others laudable programmes of the commission.

The delegation leader observed that prior to the new management, the commission’s public image was not encouraging, but the narrative has changed significantly.
