‎Warri Wolves have emerged champions of the NNL Super Eight League finals at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, Asaba.
‎with a Three Two victory over the hard fighting Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi.

‎The two clubs finished top of the Southern and Northern Conferences.

‎The match which drew hundreds of football icons, including Delta State Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, NNL Board management team led by its chairman George Aluo , as well as managers of continental clubs ,fans and supporters of both teams, featured tactical ball display with Warri Wolves having greater possession, resulting in early goal by 17 Jersey Warri Wolves player, Yusuf Lateef at the 9th minute of the match.



‎The early goal reinforced the winning spirit of the Warri Wolves, a situation which paid off for them with a second goal at the 21 minutes by Jersey 31 player Igbunu Evwierhurhona and a third goal at the 28 minutes through the assistance of Yusuf Lateef.

‎Resilient Wikki Tourists, not demoralized by the quick succession of goals by their rivals, strengthened their efforts which resulted in a consolation goal by Mahmood Aliyu reducing the goal goal margin to 3:1 at the end of the first half.

‎At resumption of play in the second half, the hard fighting Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi came out with more determination, dominating ball possession, a development that gave the boys a second goal by Wanderson Yakubu the 59th minutes.

‎The match which produced four yellow cards, was played under mist weather conditions, with heavy rains preceding the competition.

‎In a post match interview, the captain of Wikki Tourists Football Club Mohammed Idris who, said it was not an easy as they had poor starting, pointed out that they gave Warri Wolves a good fight.

‎Coach of Warri Wolves Football Club, Napoleon Aluma said his boys were well prepared, and that they expected the victory but admitted that both sides were good teams.

‎Meanwhile, supporters of Wikki Tourists Football Club invaded the football pitch at the blast of the final whistle,causing mayhem , saying that more time should have been allowed at the end of the match.

‎It took the intervention of the security personnel and the leaders of the Hausa Fulani at the stadium to restore normalcy.
