‎Mr. Etuk mentioned that to curb accidents, the Corps organized a week-long activity, including the FRSC women’s visit to the General Hospital Calabar emergency wards, where they provided gifts and support to crash victims receiving medical treatment.

‎He added that the Command also conducted a candlelight procession and town hall meetings to raise awareness on personal responsibility and the need for road users to obey safety regulations.

‎The Sector Commander urged relevant agencies to step up efforts in implementing legal provisions for compensating victims and their families, saying it would serve as a deterrent and promote safer driving habits.

‎In a homily, the Branch Pastor of Salvation Ministries Calabar, Pastor Victor Wealth,   commended the FRSC for observing the Day, noting that road safety required both God’s grace and strict adherence to driving rules.

‎Pastor Wealth cautioned motorists against drunk driving, speeding with worn-out tyres, and neglecting vehicle roadworthiness, emphasizing that divine protection is not a substitute for common sense and safety precautions.

‎The clergyman also urged drivers to respect FRSC officials, describing them crucial in maintaining road order and preventing crashes that put all road users at risk.
