NLNG NCDMB to collaborate for improved local content

The Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas NLNG and the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, have pledged to collaborate to increase the use indigenous experts in the operations of NLNG.

The two bodies made the pledge when the executive secretary, NCDMB, Doctor Felix Omatshola-Ogbe led members of management team of NCDMB on a familiarization tour of NLNG train 7 construction site, and Maritime Center of Excellence in Bonny Island, Rivers State.

The visit of NCDMB management afforded NLNG the opportunity to showcase the tremendous improvement so far in incorporating indigenous talents in its operations.

The Deputy Managing Director, Nigeria LNG Mr Asaodu who was on hand to welcome the NCDMB team said among the over 10, 000 workers on the train 7 project, a large percentage are Nigerians, and some of the fabrication works carried out locally.

The General Manager in charge of production at NLNG,  Nnamdi Anowai in his corporate presentation pointed out that NLNG has the potential to achieve more with support and and conducive business environment.

He noted that NLNG needs the support of NCDMB to develop capabilities required to make the best out of the nation’s huge gas deposit 

The Executive Secretary Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board NCDMB Doctor Felix Omatshola-Ogbe commended the achievements of NLNG over the years, and pledged that his board and NLNG will work as a team in the interest of country.

The NCDMB and his team were later taken on a guided tour of the Train 7 construction site, Trains 1-6, Maritime Center of Excellence among others.

The construction of NLNG train 7 is one of the legacy projects of NLNG which when completed, will increase the nation’s gas production capacity from 22metric tons annually to 30metric tons, while the Maritime Center of Excellence is a Center caters for the development of adequate manpower needed in the nation’s Maritime sector.
