Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed satisfaction over the level of work done at the ongoing Trans-Kalabari road Project.
Speaking during the inspection to ascertain the level of work done , Governor Fubara said significant progress has been recorded with piling of bridges already ongoing.

“I personally came here to inspect this project. This is the Trans-Kalabari road we flagged off about a year ago. I’ve been getting reports from the Ministry of Works, but I felt the need to come and see for myself what is happening here.”
Governor Fubara who acknowledged the difficulties in constructing roads in the riverine areas, said, the project when completed will change the livelihood of the Kalabari people.

“As you are aware, the first phase of this project will take us to Bakana. This first phase has 4 river crossing bridges and almost 5 decks on piles. This project is purely a very difficult one because of the terrain.”
“By the grace of God in the next 6 months I am very positive when we are coming for inspection again we might run through the bridge.”
Governor Fubara recalled that the 12.2 kilometers Trans-Kalabari road project was flagged off last year, saying the first phase will terminate in Bakana Community in Degema Local Government Area.
