National president, Radio Television and Theatre Arts workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, Prince Emeka Kalu says the Union will commence discussions with relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of Media Salary Structure and Cultural Salary structure for enhanced productivity of workers .
Prince Kalu stated this in a Chat with Radio Nigeria in Benin City,Edo State Capital.
The RATTAWU National President explained that the agitation for the implementation of a Media and Cultural Salary Structure was long overdue
” long before now, I was a member of committee on special media salary structure, we are going to revive that, and we are going to pursue it with very big intensity that will be quite effective and ensure we meet critical partners to see the need for give to this people who puts in their lives, who work round the clock to keep us educate, informed, and entertained as essential workers “
He noted that the Media and Cultural salary structure will boost morale of workers.
” We need a special salary media structure for media workers, we need a cultural salary structure for cultural workers, we need this, to boost their morale”
The RATTAWU National President further appealed to Media Practitioners to enhance their productivity to justify what they are agitating for.
” the era we are in right now, is the A.I driven era , Artificial intelligence were we all have to embrace it, people gives it the Command as without human beings it will not work, don’t be scared of it. Develop your yourself also to the point that you can master it, control it, commend it, make it work, it cant work on its own in isolation, let us up our games, so that we will be able to face the Challenges of the new era.
