RIVERS NSCDC RECOVERS 43 AMMUNITIONS PARADES 24 SUSPECTS FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF ARMS, VANDALISM CONSPIRACY, ADVANCED FREE FRAUD

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Rivers State Command in a duel gun battle with a kidnap syndicate operating at Okuru – Ama waterside has recovered 43 Ammunitions.

While speaking with the newsmen at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt the State Commandant Michael Besong Ogar said the Antivandal Squad was in a duel gun battle with the suspected kidnappers for about 25 minutes but the suspects took to their heels when they discovered our operatives had superior firing power.

” Following a sustained Intelligence on the activities of a kidnap syndicate hideout discovered at an uncompleted building located in Okuru-Ama waterside our men swung into action and engaged the suspects in a duel gun battle for 25minutes.

They however escaped through the waterways when they discovered our men almost overpowered them.

However, we were able to recover the following items at the scene of the occurrence: 6 Ak Rifle magazines, 3 Tavor gun magazines, 43 Tavor K2 Ammunitions, 1 Breech block, Some charms with animal horns, a wrist watch and an empty bag.

Our men will continue to patrol the area as we enjoined the public not to relent in giving the command credible information that would lead to their arrests; you can be rest assured that the informants identity would be jealousy protected”.

In another development the following suspects were arrested for illegal dealings in petroleum products, attempted vandalism of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company Pipelines, conspiracy, advance free fraud, illegal possession of ammunition, obtaining by false pretence and other criminal offences they are: Chibuike David, Stephen Williams, Mekalachi Okpara, James Grateman, Rachael James, Godwin Chineletam, Cameroun Eke, George Kingsley, Harrisoa Igbo, Azubuike David, Unity Onue, Bestman Philip, Progress Goodnews, Chigozie Sunday, Godbless Morris, Izuma Ezekiel, Henry Jonah, Promise Okpara, Chibuike Ezechukwu and others. 

” The NSCDC Rivers State Command operatives in joint operations with the Military, Nigerian Police and the DSS attached to Abilli Integrated Service Limited arrested about 19 suspects while attempting to vandalize the Nigerian Agip Oil Company Pipelines.

They were apprehended along a Toyota Sequoia Jeep SR 5 with Registration number Abuja RSH 645 KZ in conveyance of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), 1 hard sawblade, a Toyota Camry with number plate Lagos ET 441 LSR , a Toyota Sequoia V8 with registration number Lagos BDG 590 CX laden with illegaly refined AGO, a Honda Accord- Kaduna AH 978 MKK with 100 litres of illegally refined AGO concealed in cellophane bags, a Pump action and 2 Cartridges”.

“While on routine patrol along the waterways the Command Antivandal Marine Team Impounded a wooden boat laden with unquantified litres of AGO, the suspects actually abandoned it and dived into the water while being chased by our men. Notably, 4 other suspects were arrested for Sales of Pre-registered SIM Cards by our operatives in conjunction with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), One Mr Akpan Daniel was also arrested for advanced free fraud and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of 3 Million Naira which he claimed to have invested in Forex Trading on behalf of the Complainant.

” Let me assure the well meaning people of Rivers State that with a renewed vigour we will continue to fight against crimes and criminalities in the State; all the suspects would definitely have their time in Court. Our goal is to make the environment conducive for business to thrive without mayem, chaos, distribution of peace or breakdown of law and order.

We will continue to fight against Oil theft and illegal oil bunkering activities to savage the Nation’s economy from saboteurs even as we solicit for the support and cooperation of the public by giving actionable intelligence and information that would assist us to nip in the bud all criminal acts so that the State can be a safe haven for all dwellers”.
