NDDC TO COMPLETE ONGOING AND ABANDONED PROJECTS IN HARRY’S TOWN, OBUAMA COMMUNITY

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says every community in the region stands the chance to benefit from the developmental initiatives of the Interventionist agency.
Dr. Ogbuku who made the revelation during inspection of Harry’s Town Internal Road project and courtesy visit to Niger Delta Activist, Alhaji Asari Dokubo in Obuama Community, Degema Local Government Area, noted that such projects give the people a sense of belonging.
Dr. Ogbuku while addressing Obuama traditional rulers, told them to liaise with Executive Director Projects via their project committee to ascertain the level of ongoing NDDC projects in the locality has attained.
He acknowledged that Alhaji Dokubo as a former Ijaw youth Council leader has been making efforts to attract development to the area.
Speaking on NDDC projects in Obuama, the Chairman Obuama Council of Chiefs, Alagbo Stanley Dick-Harry appreciated the MD for coming in person to inspect the roads, but pleaded that the projects be completed in record time.
Similarly, Niger Delta Activist, Alhaji Asari Dokubo while thanking the managing Director for the honour of the visit, maintained that the internal roads project has opened up remote parts of the locality.
The former leader of Niger Delta People Volunteer force pledged to ensure that NDDC activities are not interrupted by youth restiveness.
About one kilometre of the rigid pavement internal roads has already been completed.
