NDDC TO REVITALIZE ABANDIONED PROJECTS IN OKIRIKA COMMUNITY, AS TEAM VISITS OKOCHIRI MONARCH

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says abandoned Okirika-Borokiri Road with three bridges and other projects in the community will be revitalized to bring the projects  to reality. 

Dr. Ogbuku who made the commitment while on project inspection in Okirika Local Government Area  and courtesy visit to the  Amayanabo of Okochiri, King Ateke Tom, noted that when completed, the road would ease off traffic along East West Road.

According to the Managing Director, NDDC is determined to bring development to remote communities in Niger Delta region to improve the living standard of the people.

At the Palace of Amanyanabo of Okochiri, King Ateke Tom, the Chief Executive Officer of the interventionist agency who said the visit was to show respect to the monarch, told the king that it was part of consultation with major stakeholders in the region for everyone to be on the same page.

 Responding through a presentation read by one of his aides, King Ateke Tom stressed the importance of the projects to the well-being of rural dwellers. 

The monarch was particular about  Okrika-Borokiri Road and bridges, Okuru to Ogba Road and bridge as well as reclamation of Okhai-Ama to Okochiri Mangrove.

The Amayanabo of Okochiri also solicited partnership from NDDC to host Okochiri Beach festival to promote peace and conviviality amongst residents. 

The Managing Director was accompanied on the inspection by Executive Directors and other management staff.
